Amazing

Got this tent for a 10 day elk hunting trip in Washington state. Took a minute to get the hang of putting it together but now it's so simple. Put an oversized cot in it a table and a chair. Plenty of room. Little buddy heater on low worked great. I got about 3.5 days on a 5 gallon tank. Now the rain and wind was ridiculous the first 6 days. Ugg.... but no leaks tent held up amazing. Got a bit dirty but wow what a tent. I highly recommend this tent.

HIGHEST QUALITY

This is my 2nd Kodiak tent and I’m so impressed by both. Definitely a car camping tent but at 70yrs old exactly what I wanted.
Stable, strong,EASY to set up water tight.
Both tents needed a bit of “seasoning” to become totally waterproof and now neither ever leaks a drop. LOVE not having guy lines to stumble over. Impressive!!!!!

Exactly What You'd Expect

If you're familiar with canvas tents, then you'll know what you're getting. This is a great example of a canvas tent.

The "flex-bow" makes this really easy to set up. You stake it, raise it, and you have a great canvas tent. The floor is very nice; slightly lighter than the larger footprint tents (going by published specs), but thicker than I thought it would be. It's better than another brand of canvas tent I have (a bell tent). I also purchased the tarp and floor, both of which are high quality.

I've only spent two or three nights in the tent so far, but I am impressed at how quiet it is. The material isn't stiff, it's natural, so it's somewhat soft. Wind noise has been minimal.

I haven't used it in "weather" but spent quite a bit of time "seasoning" it. The water beads and falls, so much so I wasn't sure it would take on any water to dry/season. I am confident it will keep me dry in the PNW weather we get.

So, it's heavy, sewn well, appears to be a durable and quiet material. It's just like a big ol' canvas tent, just what you'd expect.

Successful first campout with my 9x8

I bought this to replace an older Coleman 12x7 family tent we used. From my experience so far, with a cot in the tent, it's a great 1 person tent, especially for a weekender; plenty of space for a longer trip if you're diligent with your organization and use of space. (If you're really camping long-term, a 10x10 might work better) I bought the ground tarp and the floor liner and recommend both; the floor liner was a nice touch, although it'd be nice to have a way to anchor the corners to the tent corners, it's still easy enough to lift everything onto the cot and remove the floor liner temporarily to shake off any dirt or leaves collecting on the floor. The awning can be multiple purpose if you hang things off the posts; I have a paracord section tied around my big water bottle with a loop at the end, and I hang that off the post when I'm taking a quick pit stop. The loops that secure the awning when rolled up can be used to hang some light objects (perhaps some lights?) with weather protection.

Purchased Tent

Today the weather was finally nice enough to put up the 9x8' tent I purchased. It literally took me 30 minutes to put it up by myself (ground over and tent fully staked), and I'm a 5'5" 69 year old woman. So excited to start camping in it!
