The Utility Tent is built on the popular and sturdy Flex-Bow frame with tempered, spring steel rods that keep the tent taut. Its 1-inch steel tube poles will hold up to fierce winds. The screen house features Hydra-Shield™, 100% cotton duck canvas on the ceiling, and poly-cotton, rip-stop canvas on the walls. For ventilation and openness, the Utility Tent is equipped with four large windows. The versatile side walls (front and back) can be rolled up, or extended out with poles into a small awning. Zip shut the sidewalls and/or windows for stormy weather, or privacy. Screen side walls can be rolled up for access or to create an open air atmosphere. Easy, one-person setup takes only a few minutes after you have staked it out. The steep walls and 6’6” high ceiling provide a roomy interior with stand-up, walk-around comfort. A customizable organizer system offers convenient places to stow smaller items. The Utility Tent has an open bottom— it does not have a sewn-in floor. This allows you to place it over a fixed picnic table. It is equipped with a poly fringe sod cloth around the bottom inside perimeter. This helps to seal out crawling critters. Comes with a duffel style storage bag and hefty, 12-inch steel, tent stakes. Note that the Utility Tent is not free-standing—it needs to be staked down or anchored in order to stand.

Like having your own personal pavilion. 5 stars.

My wife and I have the Kodiak truck tent, two big bear chairs, XLT sleeping bag, the camping quilt. So it was obvious to us where to go to get a screen house. We are not big fans of biting flies, mosquitos and such. We would use pop-up canopy's but would have to spray up with repellant which we try to limit. Couldn't play cards after dark due to the lantern attracting every moth and flying insect. That is what drove us to purchase the Kodiak Canvas Utility tent. Sets up like the "Flex-Bow" tents but has no floor. Easily holds everything we needed to enjoy long weekends and play cards all night. The table in the image is a five foot table. Plenty of room to walk around it. In the overnight we would park our bicycles inside and zip the sides down. Very pleased with this purchase,.....as usual. Thanks Kodiak.

Utility Tent is Great

Got the tent two months ago, went to GSMNP where I go camping regularly. Set it up the first time at the campsite, over the picnic table. Had my dad with me so I let him use a tent on the pad, and I slept in the utility tent. Laid down a tarp, was able to cook on the picnic table, plenty of room for stuff, and my cot, and for cooking. When it rained we were able to sit under the awning. Unless I set it up wrong, it seems to want flat ground - we had a slope on one corner and it would not set up taut on that side (to the ground). Other side was perfect. Great versatility. One tip on the awnings (of any tent) - stake at an angle towards the outer sides of the tent, not perpendicular to the awning sides. This allow a taut awning. Also, I use adjustable poles for the awning (I own other Kodiak tents). Besides flexibility for height, I can easily drop a side when its raining - no polling. I really enjoyed using it and look forward to the next time.

Screen tent

The screen tent serves as our winter cooking tent. It is not hard to set up though a floor or maybe a semi floor would help form the bottom structure during set up.

I also have a Kodiak 12x14 tent. I called the Kodiak company and sent them an e-mail describing how the tent was sewn unevenly. One side of the tent fabric was cut and sewn together in a way that the tent is impossible to set up squarely. As the back door side of the wall is shorter that the front side. I still use the tent every winter but the tent is difficult to set up with the wrongly cut rear tent panel.

I have not had this issue with the screen tent. Both tents are waterproof, wind proof and stand up very well to winds, rain, and snow loads€¦

MUST have "kitchen tent"

We absolutely love this tent! We have a small camping trailer but we prefer to cook Outdoors on our Camp Chef. We set the stove up on one end place a table for plates and food perpendicular along one side then have our coolers on the other end. We use this for fun family camping in the summer and have all the screens open for maximum ventilation and air flow. This keeps all the bugs out while we are cooking our yummy meals. It also blocks the wind so you are not fighting the wind trying to cook. In the winter time and during cold hunts, it is even better because the heat from the stove keeps it nice and toasty. Obviously, you have to leave a portion of a door open to get some ventilation. If it is cold outside, we even set up a few camping chairs inside and enjoy our meals in this nice spacious tent. The only complaint I have is I wish it were a couple feet wider like my old Spring Bar which is no longer made. 12x14 would be perfect dimensions for this use. In spite of that, absolutely love this tent and it's wonderful versatile design.

10x14' Screen House with Vestibule

I have owned a spring bar product much like this for years. It took about an hour to set up since it had several design flaws; it was not on the market very long. By comparison Kodiak's product is superior in design, functionality and workmanship. Biggest plus for me during setup is that the poles all have a static length; no guessing and adjusting one side then the other until it sort of looks right. The canvas is much cooler inside than the vinyl material used in the other one I have, and the side wall window are large with closure flaps. This product is a floor-less all season tent with maximum ventilation for hot season camping. No floor is better for cots, tables, heaters and other furniture.
